The Alarm Clock is an item that is guaranteed to spawn at Library Entrance (Door 49), The Library (Door 50) in The Hotel, and the room right before Jeff's Shop in The Mines. It can also be found in containers in The Mines.
Appearance[]
The Alarm Clock appears to be a default, round vintage clock. It is mostly colored in a light-brown tone and has 3 legs, two on the front and one in the back. Its bells are colored in a bright and soft yellow.
Usage[]
This item's main use is to distract Figure. When used, the player will wind up the clock and place it down. Once placed down, the Alarm Clock can be picked up again by interacting with it. 10 seconds after being placed, the clock will start ringing. Figure will then run towards the Alarm Clock and stomp on it, destroying it. Afterwards, Figure will continue to roam around aimlessly. The Alarm Clock will eventually stop ringing if not interrupted. Additionally, while held, the Alarm Clock tells the current time. This can be helpful to keep track of Dread, especially when in areas that don't have clocks like The Greenhouse.

- Can tell the time, to help keep track of Dread.
Cons[]
- Only useful against Figure, Dread, Sally, and Louie.
- If not used carefully, can lead Figure to the player.
- Players can only carry one Alarm Clock at a time.
- Will be destroyed if Figure reaches it.

Bugs[]
- You can drop and pick up an Alarm Clock extremely fast with other players to give a player two alarm clocks.
- The Alarm Clock can fling away when the alarm goes off, likely due to the shaking animation making its hitbox clip through an object.
- Figure can get stuck in some places while trying to reach an Alarm Clock.
- The Alarm Clock can spawn even if the "Out Of Stuff" Modifier is on.
- This is more of an "oversight" than it is a bug, The Alarm Clock can only spawn in the library and Jeff Shop in The Mines with this modifier this is because they spawn in a special position, rather than how it usually spawns.
- The noise that alerts Figure can cause the entity to charge around the area, bumping into objects and making it unpredictable.
- For some reason, after The Takeover Event Update, Figure always won't break the Alarm Clock, no matter in what location. It is currently unknown if this is a bug or not.
Trivia[]
- If you place this in the Rift area in Door 100, Figure will not go towards it.
- This is one of the two items added to The Hotel in The Mines Update, with the other being the Shears.
- This item's use could potentially be based on the Alarm Clock item from the Baldi's Basics series.[1]
- While in a subfloor, the Alarm Clock will get stuck at midnight
- This is because Dread can not spawn in subfloors.
- When placed at the top of the balcony stairway in The Library, it will briefly slide across the floor.
