"You used the battery to charge your Flashlight."
- The removed message when charging a Flashlight
Batteries are a secondary item used to recharge electronic light sources. They can be found inside containers and on top of drawers or on top of a table.
Usage
When picked up, a battery will recharge a set amount of a light source's power. This amount varies depending on the item being recharged. Additionally, if the player has a Battery Pack, the battery will be stored in it, allowing them to recharge items where they want and when they want.
| Items | Recharge Amount |
|---|---|
| Spotlight | 25% |
| Flashlight | 50% |
| Straplight | 100% |
| Laser Pointer |
Notes
- Players without compatible light sources or a Battery Pack in their inventory are not able to pick up batteries, as well as if said light sources are fully charged and/or their Battery Pack is full.
- As of the Mines update, batteries can spawn freely, regardless if players have compatible items or not.
- Batteries can spawn as early as Door 0 and The Adit.
- Batteries spawn frequently on the floor and on tables in The Rooms, making players not need to worry much about their Flashlights dying out.
Trivia
- Prior to The Hotel+ Update, players would receive the message "You used the battery to charge your Flashlight" when recharging their flashlight with a battery.
- This was replaced with durability bar going up.
- Batteries became less common after The Hunt: First edition update but it will recharge more power than before.
- Batteries used to be able to recharge an unused flashlight (after buying them from the Pre-Run Shop) to full, but now it may vary.
- You can have up to 4 batteries in a Battery Pack, found in The Mines.
- The batteries style is coincidentally almost the same of the Duracell, a batteries manufacturer.
