Content needed: Much more information is needed.
Not to be confused with 2025 April Fools Event.

Battle Mode is a floor where players compete against each other while dodging a wide variety of entities and traversing multiple rooms from different floors.

It serves as an updated version of RANKED MODE, incorporating new content and features from the main game as they are released. Unlike RANKED MODE, it runs on the current game version.

The mode was first introduced in The Takeover, an official Roblox event. It functioned as the core mode of the event and was subsequently integrated into the game as a permanent feature.

Overview Overview[]

Battle Mode is the replacement for RANKED MODE, the 2025 April Fools Event floor, being an improved version of it with new elements and changes, and a permanent addition to the main game, functioning in the current game version and subplace, unlike its predecessor.

Players get points through different methods and the main goal of the mode is to outlast or eliminate all the other players in the server.

The mode traverses through multiple rooms and subrooms of almost every floor combined: The Hotel, The Mines, The Backdoor, The Outdoors and even rarely RETRO MODE, with The Rooms being rarer still. And several entities from different floors can also spawn, some of them with exclusive differences or mechanics that don't exist in their original floors.

Differences from a classic run[]

  • Players spawn with 300 MAX HP, increased movement speed, and the ability to slide and jump.
  • Each player has a score defined by Points. Players gain Points through different actions.
  • There is a 7 minutes timer at the start. Once it reaches 0 every player's MAX HP will be set to 5.
  • Some rooms from The Hotel, The Mines, The Backdoor, The Outdoors, RETRO MODE and The Rooms can spawn. At the same time, subrooms from every floor can also spawn regardless of the room they are in.
    • Rooms that typically contain generators do not contain them anymore.
    • Some rooms that are rare in classic runs are common here.
  • Containers can't be interacted with unless they contain a Key.
  • "Jeff's Jingle - DNB Remix" plays looped once the game starts. It is affected by the Game Music Volume setting.
  • Stat Pads randomly spawn on the floor and can give temporal extra movement speed, healing, star shield or temporal God Mode when stepped on.
  • There is a chance the exit of a room is an exclusive door, a punchable door, that can only be opened by breaking it by punching it three times or sliding through it. After it is broken, it is split in two parts that can be used as Throwable Props.
  • Gold and items can spawn on the floor as well. Some items can appear floating instead of just laying on the ground, with a blue glow.
  • Players receive God Mode temporarily when being teleported by Glitch or Void.
  • The following entities and hazards can spawn. Some of them have differences compared to their behavior in their original floors:
    • Rush: Deals 100 damage instead of 125.
    • Ambush: Deals 75 damage instead of 100.
    • Blitz: Deals 75 damage instead of 100.
    • Eyes: Moves constantly bouncing off walls. Despawns after opening 3 doors instead of 1. Can teleport as in The Mines.
    • Lookman: Can spawn in any room.
    • Screech: Gives less time to react as players open doors. Can spawn in lit rooms as it does in The Mines.
    • Dupe: Can spawn in any room.
    • Hide: Takes less time to kick players out of hiding spots as players open doors with no limit[2]. Its physical form is always present too, as in The Mines.
    • Jack: Can spawn in any room (blood room).[needs verification]
    • Shadow: Can spawn in any room.[needs verification]
    • Dread: Time moves much faster.
    • Snare: Can only spawn in rooms from The Greenhouse.
    • Void: The amount of non-voided rooms is always 6. Also triggers when players end up in places they typically cannot and when being sucked by Vacuum. Always deals 50 damage, instead of 20-40.
    • Giggle: Deals 21 damage when landing (instead of 10), and can only bite the player a maximum of 2 times (instead of 3).
    • A-90: Can only spawn via A-90's Stop Sign, the item, and deals 50 damage instead of 90.
    • Firedamp: Explosion deals 50 damage instead of instakilling and also damages nearby players, not only the player that caused it. Can be present in any room.
    • Vacuum: Players that are sucked are teleported out by Void, which will deal 50 damage.
    • Floods: No differences.
    • Minecart: Moves faster than normal when pushed.
    • Glitch: Glitch Fragments can't spawn.
  • Guiding Light death messages are disabled.
  • Mid-Run Rift Rooms are not locked and do not contain the Rift.

Usage List of Items[]

Below are items that are exclusive to Battle Mode (and RANKED MODE, its predecessor, excluding the Boxing Gloves).

The Bomb is an item added during the 2025 April Fools Event, and readded during The Takeover Event. It acts as a throwable object and appeared during 2025 April Fools Event.

Usage Usage[]

It has the same use as PARTY MODE . Once the Bomb is thrown, it will fuse for roughly 3 seconds before blowing up, damaging and knocking back nearby players (including the thrower). While it still hasn't blown up yet, it emits light and a sound effect, which intensify the closer the Bomb is to detonation.

Trivia Trivia[]

  • This might be a reference to the Holy Hand Grenade item from April Fools 2023.
  • The audio when thrown is the same audio used for the Grenade in Ragdoll Universe, another game developed by LSPLASH, although slightly different.
  • The design of the bomb may be a reference to the design of the bomb from the video game, "The Binding of Isaac".

Trivia Strategy[]

Landing direct hits with it against players positioned behind can prove useful, as the initial knockback can cause other players to get stunned long enough for it to explode directly on them. Tighter spaces are recommended due to its smaller radius compared to the Big Bomb.

Pros and Cons Pros and Cons

Positive Pros[]

  • Damages players that its directly thrown at.
  • Able to damage a group of people.
  • Is useful for stunning and damaging other players.
  • Direct hit can hit multiple players at once.

Negative Cons[]

  • The thrower can also be affected by the Bomb.
  • Targeted players can easily avoid the Bomb if they're focusing on running forward.

The Big Bomb is an item added during the 2025 April Fools Event, and readded during The Takeover Event. It acts as a better counterpart of the Bomb.

Usage Usage[]

It functions in the same way as the Bomb, though it deals more damage, have larger radius but takes longer to explode comparing to the Normal version.

Trivia Trivia[]

Trivia Strategy[]

Similar to the Bomb, a good time to use it when there is a group of people catching up. Throwing it at crowds can be effective, though one should use it wisely and carefully as its larger radius hitbox can cause self-damage and the time for it to explode can make players easily avoid it if they are focused on running forward.

Pros and Cons Pros and Cons

Positive Pros[]

  • Damages players that its directly thrown at.
  • Able to greatly damage a group of people.
  • Is useful for stunning and damaging other players.
  • Direct hit can hit multiple players at once.

Negative Cons[]

  • The thrower can also be affected by the Big Bomb.
  • Targeted players can easily avoid the Big Bomb if they're focusing on running forward.

The Knockbomb is an item added during the 2025 April Fools Event, or RANKED MODE, and readded during The Takeover Event or Battle Mode. It acts as another counterpart to the Bomb.

Usage Usage[]

Once the Knockbomb is thrown, it will immediately detonate upon contact with a surface, greatly knocking back nearby players. This item's explosion does not deal damage, however if it the projectile directly hits someone, it will deal 10 damage. The bomb may stun the thrower if in range, albeit for half the usual stun time.

Trivia Trivia[]

Trivia Strategy[]

It is recommended to use it when there are other players ahead to catch up to them if you're too slowm or when there is a group of players behind you to gain additional points. Can also be used when Rush, Ambush or Blitz appear to prevent players from entering a hiding spot, increasing the chances of an assist bonus.

Pros and Cons Pros and Cons

Positive Pros[]

  • Damages players that it's directly thrown at.
  • Able to stun a group of people.
  • Detonates immediately upon contact with any surfaces.
  • Direct hit can hit multiple players at once.

Negative Cons[]

  • The thrower can also be knocked back.

The Nanner and Nanner Peel are items added during the 2025 April Fools Event,or RANKED MODE, and readded during The Takeover Event or Battle Mode. The Nanner takes the appearance of a banana and can be eaten, while the Nanner Peel can be thrown on the ground for players to fall and slip upon it.

Usage Usage[]

Once the Nanner is used, it heals the user for a slight amount, specifically for 45 HP and the Nanner turns into the Nanner Peel which can be thrown on the ground, slipping anyone who runs over it.

Trivia Trivia[]

  • This might be a reference to the Banana Peel from 2023 April Fools Event, though its mechanic is completely the same with the Banana Peel other than the 45 HP healing.
  • The Nanner and the Nanner Peel’s name came from a phrase from RediblesQW, saying if a person was slipping on a banana peel multiple times, they were “Nanner locked”.

Trivia Strategy[]

It is recommended to throw the Nanner Peel in a tight hallway or in the doorway to the next room or throw directly at a player to gain more points.

Pros and Cons Pros and Cons

Positive Pros[]

  • Can stun other players.
  • Direct hit can hit multiple players at once.

Negative Cons[]

  • It's easily avoidable in large rooms.
  • Does not damage players.

The Gold Blaster is an item added during the 2025 April Fools Event, or RANKED MODE, and readded during The Takeover Event or Battle Mode. It acts as a gun, likely renamed to keep the games' age rating within the 5+ range.

Usage Usage[]

Once the Gold Blaster is used, it will damage the player it is pointed at.

Trivia Trivia[]

  • When the player interacts with a Gold Blaster while holding one, it refills one ammo slot.
  • Unconfirmed, but this weapon may be a reference to the Gold Blaster from Resident Evil 7's Jack's 55th Birthday DLC.
  • Much like how throwing a glowstick at a Giggle temporarily stuns them, shooting a Giggle with the Gold Blaster stuns them aswell.
  • The weapon is a golden Desert Eagle.
  • The model for the Gold Blaster is from RAGDOLL UNIVERSE, the Heavy Pistol weapon, colored gray. This also applies to ammo capacity, which is 7 for both.[3]
    • There is a more similar item to the Gold Blaster, which is the Toy Pistol from RAGDOLL UNIVERSE.[4]

Trivia Strategy[]

It is recommended to save it and look for another gun to get more ammo. After that, one should shoot a person with low health to eliminate them. Pairing A-90's Stop Sign, a Knockbomb or a Giggle with the blaster is useful as it makes the target easier to hit.

Pros and Cons Pros and Cons

Positive Pros[]

  • Able to damage anyone.
  • Can pierce through players, meaning that the player can hit multiple other players with a single shot, which allows the player who shot the Gold Blaster get more than 100 points if aim correctly.

Negative Cons[]

  • Might be hard to aim.
  • It is normally found with only 1 out of 7 usages.

The Hiding Box is an item added during the 2025 April Fools Event, and readded during The Takeover Event. It takes the appearance of a cardboard box and acts as a portable one-time-use hiding spot.

Usage Usage[]

When the Hiding Box is used, the player will duck under the box. Similar to when hiding in a normal hiding spot, Rush-like entities, as well as other players' items, cannot damage the player. The item is discarded when the player pops out of the hiding box.

Trivia Trivia[]

  • Despite it's name being Hiding Box, in the game files, it's named SnakeBox.
    • The filename, and item in itself, could possibly be a reference to Metal Gear Solid, where the main character often hides in a cardboard box.
  • When the 2025 April Fools Event released, the Hiding Box used to have a maximum stack of 1.
    • In BATTLE MODE, this was changed so that multiple Hiding Boxes can be stored more than once in a player's inventory.

Trivia Strategy[]

It is recommended to save it and use it when there are no available hiding spots nearby or when the player is too far from a hiding spot while trying to avoid Rush, Ambush or Blitz.

Pros and Cons Pros and Cons

Positive Pros[]

  • Can be used to quickly evade a Rush-type entity.
  • Hide can't get to the player so they can hide as long as needed.
  • Can be used to block damage from sources like Bombs.

Negative Cons[]

  • Can only be used once before being discarded.

The Throwable Prop is an item added during the 2025 April Fools Event, and readded during The Takeover Event. It acts as a throwable object.

Usage Usage[]

Some furniture can be picked up. Furniture that can be picked up is highlighted by an outline. When picked up, other items cannot be used and the holder is slowed down. When thrown directly at another player, stuns and damages them.

Trivia Trivia[]

  • Picking up a furniture while already holding another one will replace the previous one (making it disappear) with the new one.
  • You can throw a prop through a wall when you are holding a prop, and make your hands and the prop "clip".

Trivia Strategy[]

It is recommended to use it in a tight hallway. When other players are searching for the key in a locked room, you can also use it to annoy other players, thus gaining some free points.

Pros and Cons Pros and Cons

Positive Pros[]

  • It's common.
  • It's great at slowing down other players.
  • Prop hits can hit multiple players at once.

Negative Cons[]

  • Slows down the holder.
  • Other items cannot be used with the Throwable Prop held.

Gallery Props[]

A-90's Stop Sign is an item added during the 2025 April Fools Event, and readded during The Takeover Event. It takes the appearance of a stop sign with A-90's hand on it.

Usage Usage[]

When this item is used, the player will damage any other player hit by the stop sign. A-90 will spawn for every player, unless they were hit directly by the sign.

Trivia Trivia[]

  • This item can give points, even if it wasn't succesfully used.
  • When the 2025 April Fools Event released, A-90's Stop Sign could also increase the chances of getting hit by A-90 upon a direct hit due to its knockback.
    • In Battle Mode, this was changed so that players directly hit by A-90's Stop Sign won't summon A-90 for them.

Trivia Strategy[]

It is recommended to use it when other players aren't moving to maximize the chance of landing a hit, or use a Bomb/Knockbomb to force players to move when A-90 attacks. Using it while pointing towards players will also knock them away, though A-90 will not attack players directly smacked by it. It can also be useful during attacks from Rush, Ambush or Blitz, as keeping players in place during A-90's attack can prevent them from getting to a hiding spot in time.

Pros and Cons Pros and Cons

Positive Pros[]

  • Can target multiple people at once.
  • Forces other players to stop or get damaged, leave them vulnerable to any rush-type entities if one of them is active.
  • Can knock down people when the player hits them with the item, increasing the chance of getting attacked by A-90.

Negative Cons[]

  • May be hard to target, especially if the targets are moving.
  • It's easily avoidable by experienced players.

The Boxing Gloves are an item added during The Takeover Event. It takes the appearance of a red pair of boxing gloves with white spikes on it.

Usage Usage[]

The item can be used to punch any player, resulting in them taking 50 damage and being ragdolled in the direction of the attack. If no players are hit, the item will not be used up, only disappearing upon direct contact with another player.

Trivia Trivia[]

  • Upon hitting any player, the item will play a ringing bell sound, followed by a crowd cheer scream.
    • The sound will multiply if more players are hit.

Trivia Strategy[]

It is recomended to save up the item in order to use it when a Node entity attacks or combined with A-90's Stop Sign in order to knock over other players. It can also be used to drop people in the void with it, which will deal additional damage by Void.
