"I'm the one for the job."
- Expert Technician Achievement description
Breaker Poles are collectable single-use items that are found within Door 100 in The Hotel, and are used to complete the Circuit Breaker mini-game within The Electrical Room, which in return will power the elevator.
Overview[]
In The Electrical Room, Breaker Poles are found in areas such as the labyrinth hallways, storage rooms, and near the Elevator. Being an essential item, these switches emit a "shiny" sound effect, and will be highlighted by Guiding Light's particles after a short period of time, making them easier to find.
Usage[]
Pressing E (on PC),
(on Xbox),
(on PlayStation), or the interact button (on mobile) will make the Breaker Pole de-spawn (along with the Guiding Light's illumination), it will then display in your inventory that you have picked up a Breaker Pole.
Once players reach The Electrical Room, they'll have to find 10 Breaker Poles around the whole room to insert them in the Circuit Breaker, accessible with the Electrical Room Key (which can also be found in the room), to power the mines elevator and escape The Hotel. Before being able to collect every Breaker Pole, however, players will have to pull a lever, which will give players access to the whole room but will also cause Figure to appear, complicating the situation.
Strategies[]
- The timer for Guiding Light to highlight the Breaker Poles begins when a player opens door 100, not when Figure is spawned. This means that players can wait around for the switches to be illuminated safely and not have to risk retracing their steps to find them all.
- After players have been in The Electrical Room for roughly a minute, Guiding Light will intensify the light and particles around the poles, which makes them easier to find.
Notes[]
- Breaker Poles will not emit any sound with the 'Soundproofing' modifier.
- Breaker Poles will never be highlighted by Guiding Light's light and particles with the 'Gone Fishing' modifier.
- Breaker Poles will be highlighted and visible through walls clearly if a player uses a Moonlight Float.
- Ten Breaker Poles will always spawn, and all of them are required to power the elevator to progress.
