Buddy is a cosmetic minor item introduced in The Halloween Spotlight Event. Buddy is only obtained when equipping a skin for it and will be removed when unequipping the skin mid-run.
Appearance[]
Buddy takes the appearance of the skin that the player has equipped.
Usage[]
The item plays an animation and a sound when used, and can also be inspected.
Notes[]
- Players with an item skin equipped for Buddy will always have the item in their inventory.
- This also works mid-run, disappearing from the player's inventory if the skin is unequipped, and appearing again if a skin is equipped.

Trivia[]
- Buddy was officially implemented as the Final Reward for The Halloween Spotlight Event, given to players after unlocking every other item skin from the Trick or Treat 2025 section from the Lobby Shop through Candy, the event's currency.
- Buddy is the only item with a circular inventory slot in the inventory.
- Buddy is the only item whose icon changes based on the equipped item skin.
- Buddy is the first minor item to have an item skin.
- When The Halloween Spotlight Event started, Buddy could be given through the Admin Panel with no skin equipped for it, until its official implementation, when it got removed from the Admin Panel.
- Buddy was invisible. If made visible through exploits, it was a pyramid with red and purple colors.
- The idle animation was the Crucifix's idle animation, and the use and inspect animations were the Drakobloxxer Flashlight's inspect animation.
- There was also a bug where Buddy would disappear from the player's inventory when a locked numbered door was opened.
- Buddy's inventory icon is a white silhouette of a teddy bear prior to equipping the item for the first time in a run.
- Thinknoodles, the voice actor of El Goblino, managed to get early access with the new El Goblino skin.
- The El Goblino Plush skin plays the exact same voicelines from the Voice Acting modifier if you pull his string, just slightly changed to make it fit the sound of the plushie.
Bugs[]
- Before the November 3rd, 2025 patch, when transporting through floors or rebirthing with Buddy, the item transported, but another extra Buddy was given for having an item skin equipped for it. This resulted in having an extra Buddy every time this happened.
- Due to how the Hotbar works, this could cause items (including essential items) to not be equippable, if they are obtained while having 10 items in the hotbar already.
- When the Pupkin item skin released, its chromas couldn't be bought. This was later fixed.
