The Compass is an item released in the Great Outdoors Update. It can be found in Containers and inside of cabins in The Outdoors.

Usage[]

The Compass points in the direction of the next door. Once the door is reached, the Compass will change direction to point towards the next main door.

Pros and Cons[]

Pros[]

Can be used to quickly traverse The Outdoors if the user does not wish to explore side rooms. Can be useful for speedrunning.
Trivializes Dupe.
Can guide players through The Hedge Maze.

Cons[]

Only naturally appears in The Outdoors.
Not helpful during Eyestalk's Chase.

Trivia[]

On launch, there was a bug that caused the Compass to remain closed when equipped, rendering it useless.
When The Great Outdoors Update released, Compass could be bought in Pre-Run Shop. However, around 25 minutes into the update, it was removed because it was too overpowered, according to Redibles.^[1]
The Compass has appeared in 2 devlogs.
- It appeared for the first time in Devlog #12.
- It appeared a second time in Devlog #23
If the Compass is brought to the last door of the floor, it will point towards the extra door which makes sure the game is working correctly (e.g. 101, 201, -00).
The Starlight symbol appears in the Compass. It implies Curious Light has some association with the Compass, although that is unsure.

Bugs[]

When the player attempts to record a video by using Roblox's video recording feature by pressing F12, the compass will always point at the player until they stop the recording.
