"Nut!"
- "D'oh!" Achievement description
The Donut is an edible item added in The Great Outdoors Update. It can be obtained in the Café room in The Hotel, one of the Mid-Run Rift rooms, accessible with a Skeleton Key.
Appearance[]
The Donut appears to be a regular donut with pink icing and yellow and blue sprinkles. Unlike its real-life counterpart, it is shaped like a heptagon.
Usage[]
The Donut is used to instantly heal 80 health points to the player.
If the player gives the Donut to Louie, then it's possible for them to give player one of the items below:
Notes[]
- In The Hotel there are three Mid-Run Rift sub-rooms variants, the Café room being by far the rarest, which always contains the Donut.
- The donut can be stored in the Rift.
- The donut can be spawned by the Prize Inside candy.
Pros and Cons[]
Pros[]
- Heals a large amount of health.
- Grants an achievement when eaten for the first time.
Cons[]
- Very rare to find its room.
- Multiple stacks can't be held at a time.
- One-time use.
- Requires a Skeleton Key in The Hotel.
Trivia[]
- The Achievement's name for eating the Donut is a Simpsons reference, referring to Homer's iconic "D'oh!". And, (not very) coincidentally, Homer is a big fan of donuts.
- Its appearance in the Café room may also be a reference to Moe's Tavern from The Simpsons.
- The Donut's eating animation and sounds are both the same as the Bread and Cheese's.
- Although it functions the same, the Donut gives more health than the both of them.
- Many people have created strategies for obtaining the Donut. Below is a list of methods and strategies that people have created.
- Since progression is still enabled in The Halloween Spotlight Event, the player can buy the Donut for 100 Gold at Grampy's Shop, eat it, and still get the "D'oh!" badge.
Methods & Strategies[]
- Store the Skeleton Key in a Rift, start The Hotel. Open first four doors (0001-0004), check whether the Rift Door exists.
- If the Rift Door doesn't exist, then repeat the above actions.
- If the Rift Door does exist, then you can take out the Skeleton Key from the Rift and open the Rift Door.
- If it is the Café room, then you can find the Donut and eat it.
- If it is not the Café room, then repeat the above actions.
- You can observe whether the Café room is inside through the gap in the Rift on the door. This will save you a lot of time, especially the repeated acquisition of the Skeleton Key.
- When you use this method, you can add some quick-damage Modifiers such as "Four Eyes". When you can't find the Rift Door between first four doors, just quickly die and click the "Play Again” button to start a new run.
- Store the Skeleton Key in a Rift, start The Hotel. Tell your friend this game's Seed and ask your friend to use the Admin Panel to quickly browse whether Doors 1-89 have the Rift Door and check if it is the Café room.
- If there is a Café room at some point in the run, you can take the Skeleton Key from the Rift and start a run until you arrive at the Rift Door.
- If there is not a Café room at some point in the run, then repeat the above actions.
- You can use some Modifiers to make your run easier, such as "Didn't Skip Leg Day" modifier. But you must keep in mind that some Modifiers ban rifts.
- There is a bug which allows you open the Skeleton lock without using the Skeleton Key, because if the player repeatedly chooses and unchooses the normal room key, they can get stuck in the wall and flip through the Rift Door.
- There is a 100% successful method to determine whether the Rift Door is the Café room without exploiting any bugs or mold-stuck:
- Make sure your Rift has the Curious Light Rift.
- If a Rift door makes the harsh Guiding Light sound when you stand at a distance from it, that proves it's definitely not a Café room.
- If a Rift door doesn't make any Guiding Light sound, and you can only hear soft Curious Light sounds when you stick to the Rift Door, that proves it's definitely a Café room.
- This method uses the obvious difference between "the distance between the Rift of the Café room and the Rift Door" and "the distance between the other two room types and the Rift Door" to determine what type of room it is.
- Make sure your Rift has the Curious Light Rift.
