The Iron Key is an item found in The Outdoors inside of or on top of containers.
Overview[]
The Iron Key is used to open Locked Crypts containing Lotus Petals in The Outdoors to help create the Lotus Flower.
Some rooms will spawn with more than one Locked Crypt, these rooms only spawn with one Iron Key.
Notes[]
- The Iron Key does not take up an inventory slot.
- It is possible to have more Iron Keys than Locked Crypts, leaving you with left-over keys at the end.
- Upon entering a room with a Locked Crypt, if drawers are present, and Iron Key is almost guaranteed to spawn.
Trivia[]
- The Iron Key was first teased in Devlog #6, but as a major item instead of it's current type being a minor item. This lead to confusion for people to think that the Iron Key will be an item skin. Additionally, while making this Devlog it must have been spawned with a developer exclusive admin panel, because it would not be obtainable on the first door of The Hotel, and the Admin Panel icon was not visible in the top left.
- The Iron Key and the Lotus Petal are the first items that do not take up slots in your inventory that are not required to progress through the floor.
- The Iron Key will be removed from your inventory upon escaping The Outdoors.
