"ITEM SKINS PURCHASE WITH KNOBS CHROMAS COST STARDUST"
- THE GREAT OUTDOORS TRAILER
Item Skins are an optional game mechanic allowing players to change the appearance of an item in many different ways. They were introduced in The Great Outdoors Update on August 10, 2025.
Overview[]
Item Skins are purchasable changes in color/appearance for a type of item. They are purchasable with Knobs (
) or Robux in the Store or awarded with Achievements. Chromas, which cost Stardust (
), allow you to further recolor/change the model of an Item Skin you own.
Once equipped, any instance of a particular item in gameplay will appear using the Item Skin you have chosen for it. When not in a player's inventory they will always appear as their default form, with the exception of dropped bandages. While their functional uses never change, some Item Skins alter an item's lighting, sounds, inspect animations, and more.
Eight Item Skins are always available in Today's Deals, and sometimes more as part of limited bundles. Every 24 hours, in 3PM EST, they will rotate out to showcase other skins.
Special Item Skins are able to be bought with Candy (
) during the Trick or Treat 2025 event.

Bundles[]
Some Item Skins are sold as part of a Bundle, giving you multiple Item Skins at greatly discounted prices. Bundles can be found in the Store for varying prices, depending on the amount of Item Skins included. They each follow a theme, with its skins treated as part of a 'set'.
Bundles remain featured in the Store for a week before being replaced by a new bundle. After 30 days of a bundle no longer being featured, Item Skins from that bundle can be found in Bundleily Deals. (Excluding 3rd Anniversary Bundle and Tower Heroes Bundle)
Some special bundles, usually milestone or update related, such as the Overgrown and 3rd Anniversary bundles, can stay around for longer periods of time. Normal bundles may also linger for longer, as the skins are actively being made and/or picked for every bundle release.

Trivia[]
- Item Skins were first shown in a daily teaser, showcasing Ambush being crucified with a purple aura around it.
- The skin showcased is the Overgrown Crucifix skin.
- As of now, if a player has bought all items and bundles since the Outdoors update released, they would've spent 210,142 knobs on them.
- An item skin contest was hosted from August 3rd to August 8th (2025), where players could submit concepts by art or Roblox models using #DoorsSkinContest. If someone won the contest, their item skin(s) will be added to the game for a limited time.
- Both the J*b Application and Moonlight Dagger Crucifix skins were the winners of this contest.
- There are currently 232 skins in the game, 112 of these being recolors.
- There currently a total of 296 chromas in the game, and the total cost for all chromas would be 5,200 stardust, requiring at most 7,500 Robux or approximately 90 full A-1000 runs to get.
- The Tower Heroes Bundle is the first skin Bundle to cost Robux.
- Kitty Bundle is the second Bundle for Robux, and the first Item Skin Bundle that can be gifted to another player for Robux.
- On August 29th, the 3rd Anniversary Bundle was mistakenly removed along with the Voxel Bundle.
- Bundle returned on August 30th.
- Buddies are currently the only item(s) that require a skin to function properly.
- The crossed-out price next to the Item Skins Bundle shows the total cost of the item skins separately from the bundle. (In the Today Deals section)
- Currently, the following Item Skins are not available for purchase: 3rd Anniversary Bundle item skins, Trick Or Treat 2025 item skins, Pupkin Buddy, J*b Application crucifix, Moonlight Dagger crucifix, Advent Calendar 2025 item skins, Cringle Buddy
- The Flashlight is the currently the item with the most amount of skins in the game, with 32 current skins. When not counting basic recolors, that title goes to the Crucifix with 21 non-recolor skins. The Flashlight only has 16 non-recolor skins.
- The Flashlight is the only item to have a skin featured in every bundle.
- The Flashlight also has the most chromas, with 36 total.
- The Lantern and Moonlight Candle are currently only items with the least amount of skins in the game, only having 1 each (the Bramble and 3rd Anniversary skins respectively).
- There is a red notice on the store icon whenever new item skins have been added.
- There are 21 items that currently do not have skins.
- These include: Starlight Jug, Starlight Vial, Starlight Bottle, Moonlight Float, Bread, Cheese, Donut, Aloe, Laser Pointer, Compass, Multitool, Tip Jar, Rift Jar, Bomb, Big Bomb, Knockbomb, Nanner, Nanner Peel, Hiding Box, A-90's Stop Sign, and Boxing Gloves.
- Starlight Bottle are still eligible to receive skins, as evidenced by the Doors Skin Contest voting.
- It is unknown if past items such as the Holy Hand Grenade will recieve skins.
- Starlight Bottle are still eligible to receive skins, as evidenced by the Doors Skin Contest voting.
- These include: Starlight Jug, Starlight Vial, Starlight Bottle, Moonlight Float, Bread, Cheese, Donut, Aloe, Laser Pointer, Compass, Multitool, Tip Jar, Rift Jar, Bomb, Big Bomb, Knockbomb, Nanner, Nanner Peel, Hiding Box, A-90's Stop Sign, and Boxing Gloves.
- When an any Item Skin is equppied on the Crucifix the wingdings sigil will display a different message that reads "zpvhsfkmvtujtffujohduijioht" and when caesar decoded by a→b says "yougrejlustiseetingcthihngs" which is "yourejustseeingthings" with the letters from "Glitch" spread throughout. (youGrejLustIseeTingCthiHngs)
- This could mean that all the Item Skins are "visions" created by the glitch.
- It can also include Buddies.
- Despite this, item skins can be seen on third person/by other players, unlike visions.
- This could mean that all the Item Skins are "visions" created by the glitch.
