Knobs are the main form of currency for DOORS. They take the form of regular doorknobs. Knobs can be purchased by Robux, or obtained by ending a run by any means, such as escaping and/or in the Death Screen.
Overview
The main use of Knobs is to purchase items at the Pre-Run Shop. The secondary use of Knobs is to purchase Item Skins.
Earning Knobs
Players can earn Knobs in a variety of ways, including:
- Opening numbered doors, except for dupe. (Every numbered door opened gives
1) - Floors survived. (Every floor completed gives
50) - Collecting Gold. (
1 every
20 found)
- Caps out at
500. (i.e: Will not generate any additional Knobs after collecting over
10,000) - Every
20 spent will subtract
1, resulting in a lower total, as if the Gold wasn’t collected.
- This was originally suspected to be a bug though, since the amount of gold collected had before a player died (or completed the run) won't show up.
- This is no longer the case.

- Playing a run with friends. (A +0.1× multiplier will be added for each friend in player’s current run, for a maximum of a +0.3× multiplier with three friends)
- Friends are only counted once a player has died or completed the game.
- If friends leave before you die, the bonus won't be applied, as if they were nevdr there.
- Redeeming Codes.
- Purchasing UGC accessories. (Awards
200 and
1 per UGC item) - Completing Daily Runs (Awards
25 and
3 per escape) - The Lobby Shop:
This is the formula used in the Overview that grants the player Knobs, with Base being the earned Knobs by surviving rooms, finding/spending Gold, and escaping floors, Friends (in absolute value, not in percentage) being the bonus added by playing with friends, Modifiers (in absolute value, not in percentage) being the bonus given by modifiers if applied and Boost having a value of 5 if a Boost is active in the run:
Boosts
Boosts are a currency-boost game mechanic in DOORS, the player can gain them by purchasing them with 99 ROBUX, or by using codes. Boosts are used for multiplying the conversion rate of Gold to Knobs by 5x per boost purchased. One boost will be used after a player dies or beats the game in a run.
Trivia
- Unlike Gold or Items, the amount of Knobs a player has will carry over between runs.
- Redibles has stated that Knobs will "have cosmetic uses and also practical uses". The cosmetic uses have now been revealed to be skins.
- For some unknown reason, Knobs do not resemble the doorknobs on doors in the game.
- The top donators for Knobs will be shown on the leaderboard in the Lobby.
- Before The Outdoors Update, If a player has spent at least 2,400 amount of Robux inside the game, a hidden section will be revealed in the shop, with three new options to buy knobs. These include: 6,000 knobs (999 Robux), 16,000 knobs (2,499 Robux) and 1,000,000 knobs (100,000 Robux).
- This was done in order to only present these more expensive options to people who are already willing to donate a large amount of Robux to the game.
- The highest technical amount of Knobs that can be obtained in a single Overview Screen are
9,100 as of The Great Outdoors Update.
- For this, the player should get escape the floor (
50), survive 100 rooms (
100) and collect
10,000 (
500). - Apart from that, they should play with 3 friends (+0.3 multiplier), play with 150% modifiers bonus and have an active Boost (x5).
- Despite the amount, the maximum amount of knobs that can be obtained in a run is 600 Knobs (unless a boost is used).
- For this, the player should get escape the floor (
- If you leave a run before you beat a floor or die, you won't get any Knobs from that run.
