"That is NOT what I put in there."
- Lost In Translation Achievement description
The Moonlight Float is an item that was added in The Content Update.
Appearance[]
The Moonlight Float appears to be a light blue to dark blue tall-glass mug, with an indigo to blue handle. The top of the drink has light blue coloured foam on the top, along with a pink cherry and a light blue and white striped straw.
Usage[]
When used in main floors, the Moonlight Float will heal the player by 100 HP and will also give the player a blue light around them that will slowly fade away. It will also light up the exit of the current room and highlight important things up through walls for 5 minutes, such as Anchors and Books, as well as certain entities through the wall like Grumbles and Figure.
When used in a subfloor, however, the Moonlight Float will only heal the player by 100 HP, without any other effect, as Guiding Light isn't present. Using it will say the message "Your Moonlight Float doesn't taste the same...".
In order to get a Moonlight Float, players must place a Smoothie into a Rift. Creating the item will award the player with the achievement Lost In Translation if they didn't have it yet.
Pros and Cons[]
Pros[]
- Always regenerates the player to full health.[1]
- Useful for knowing where Figure or Grumble is
- Makes the consumer glow for the first minute, making it easier to see in dark rooms.
- Extremely useful in the Library and The Electrical Room due to it's ability to highlight essential items
Cons[]
- Hard to obtain.
- Cannot reveal the correct door in order to counter Dupe, unlike the Life Saver Candy.
- Not as useful in subfloors.
Trivia[]
- All the things that highlight through walls effects are applied to are the following: Keys, Books, Breaker Poles, Fuses, Generators, Gate Buttons, Anchors, Figure and nest Grumbles.
- The highlight through walls effects will start fading away after 4 minutes and 50 seconds, disappearing completely 5 minutes after consuming the Moonlight Float.
- The function of this item is nearly identical to that of the Life Saver Candy, added before the Moonlight Float as part of The Haunt event.
- It is very likely the Moonlight Float was already designed before Candy, and its effect was released early because of the event.
- Moonlight Float could be a reference to Guiding Light because of its appearance and the way it guides the player.
- The Moonlight Float is similar to Moonlight Candle in that the player must place both items in the Rift to create the two aforementioned items.
- Exactly like the Candle, if the Smoothie is put in Starlight rift, it won't turn the Smoothie into a Moonlight Float.
- According to LSPLASH, the Moonlight Float tastes like “Blue”.
Bugs[]
- When you make a Moonlight Float with an item in the Rift, the item will be permanently deleted in the Rift once the Moonlight Float is made. This also happens to the Moonlight Candle and the Rift Jar.
