"Hands-free light"
- Pre-Run Shop
The Straplight is a light source item that can be bought for
100 Knobs in the Pre-Run Shop from The Mines' elevator or
150 Gold in Jeff's shop. It can also be found in containers in The Mines.
Usage[]
When equipped, the Straplight functions similarly to the flashlight. However, players are able to equip other items while they have the Straplight equipped. Players can also stack up the light that it emits by holding a flashlight at the same time. Has fuel time, so it cannot be used forever.
Pros and Cons[]
Pros[]
- Cheap in the Pre-Run Shop and Jeff's Shop.
- Long range directional.
- Decent fuel time.
- Attached to player's torso, allowing to equip other items.
- Only need a single battery, unlike Flashlight and Spotlight to be fully charged.
- Can still light up even while hiding.
- Available in Shops.
Cons[]
- Can randomly flicker and turn off by itself, causing Figure to hear it.
- Does not follow the camera's up and down movements if not holding it.
- Somewhat rare to spawn in The Mines.
- Cannot stun Giggles or slow down Grumbles.
- Longer start-up time and end-lag compared to other light sources.
- Hard to tell if Straplight is on or off.
- Darker in color and fainter than other light sources.
Item Skins[]
Bugs[]
- When completing The Mines, The Straplight will turn into its UGC instead of the actual item, even if you do not have it.[citation needed]
- The Straplight will turn green if the "You Finally Turn Green" candy is consumed or if the Gween Soda is drunk while it is strapped to your character.
- This can be undone by dropping and picking the Straplight back up.
- You can stack Straplights with Admin Panel to your inventory and turn each one of them on without one turning off because of its functionalities. This also makes this light source “stack” on one player.
- For Some Unknown reason after The Great Outdoors Update, The Straplight Still Can’t Stun Giggles. It is currently unknown if this is a bug or not.
Trivia[]
- The Straplight was leaked before The Mines' first sneak peek, being labelled as a "flashlight skin".
- The Straplight also appeared multiple times in the DOORS FLOOR 2 FULL TRAILER, but way less noticeable.
- The Straplight only affects Gloombats while it is both turned on and equipped. If it is unequipped, even if it's turned on the gloombats will ignore it.
- The Straplight is almost always found in the third vine-covered chest opened by the Shears.
- The Straplight is one of the few light items/sources not to be able to stun Giggles or slow down Grumbles.
- The Straplight can be obtained trading with Louie certain items.
- The Straplight has a chance of 33.33% to be dropped when using a Crucifix against Louie.
- In The Great Outdoors Update, when equipping the Straplight from your inventory, you will be holding the item out like a flashlight or Bulklight. This will also allow you to shine the Straplight up and down now. To do this, equip the Straplight, turn it on, and unequip it.
- Like the Shakelight, there is an outline of a square that can be seen when placing it in the Rift or from the inventory.
- The Shakelight, however, instead has a filled-in, faint square.
- The Straplight resembles the Streamlight PolyTac 90X right-angle flashlight, a light source used by firefighters, which have the same behavior and function, illuminating light even while equipping a different item.
