The Tip Jar is a rare item in DOORS. It can be obtained in a Mid-Run Rift room, trading with Louie, and through the following modifiers' own features: Chat Control, Trick or Treat and Admin Panel.
Appearance[]
It is a semi-transparent empty jar with a white label that reads "TipƧ" (likely due to Jeff not being able to write properly).
Usage[]
The Tip Jar by itself doesn't do anything, but it can be transformed into a Rift Jar if placed inside Guiding Light's Rift.
Notes[]
- The Tip Jar is always found in the Abandoned Shop Mid-Run Rift sub-room in The Hotel.
- The Tip Jar can be dropped by Louie, with a different chance depending on the item given.
- The Tip Jar has a 22.22% chance of being dropped by Louie when crucifying them with a Crucifix.
- The Tip Jar has a 20% chance of being dropped by Louie when giving them Bread, Cheese, a Lighter, a Candle or a Straplight.
- The Tip Jar has a 16.66% chance of being dropped by Louie when giving them a Glowstick.
- The Tip Jar can be obtained using certain modifiers.
- With the "Prize Inside" Candy, there is a small chance the Tip Jar is dropped.
- There is also a small chance to obtain it if the "Free Item" option is voted with the Stream Integration modifier.
- It is also obtainable by spawning it through the Admin Panel.
- The Tip Jar has no functional purposes, since pressing the button to use it won't do anything.
- Only a single Tip Jar can be held at a time per player.
- The Tip Jar's appearance is identical to that of the Tip Jar present in Jeff Shop.
- One key difference is the Tip Jar item is more translucent than the Tip Jar in the Jeff Shop.
- The Tip Jar was technically added in The Hunt Update, however, the only way to obtain it was through exploits.[1]
- Players could obtain it by progressing until Jeff Shop closed, by triggering an entity like Rush while the room was active. Then, activating a disabled ProximityPrompt (interaction) in Jeff's Tip Jar would give them the item.
- Jeff Shop no longer closes after The Mines Update, so this method to obtain the item is no longer possible.
- Players could obtain it by progressing until Jeff Shop closed, by triggering an entity like Rush while the room was active. Then, activating a disabled ProximityPrompt (interaction) in Jeff's Tip Jar would give them the item.
- Prior to The Great Outdoors Update, as of The Content Update, it was impossible to rift the Tip Jar, as the only ways to obtain it were using modifiers that disabled the rift, and finishing a floor using modifers will return the players back to the start of the same floor with no items.
- Prior to The Content Update, after The Haunt Update, it was possible to rift the Tip Jar, (only in Curious Light's rift and not in Guiding Light's rift). Doing this would transform the Tip Jar into a Lighter the next time the rift was encountered.[2]
- This was possible to do finishing The Hotel with the "Trick Or Treat" modifier (and getting the Tip Jar through the "Prize Inside" Candy). When finishing the floor, players would spawn in The Mines with no modifiers and with their items, being able to use the rift.
- Interacting with Guiding Light's rift while holding the Tip Jar would duplicate the item inside the rift, this could be done multiple times. This was a bug.[3]
- Before The Mines Update, rifting the Tip Jar was possible (and in any rift, contrary to the previously mentioned case). During this period, any Tip Jar saved in the rift would transform into the Evil Dollar the next time the rift was encountered.
- Attempting to retrieve the Evil Dollar would instantly kill the player and would cause it to be removed from the rift.
- In The Mines Update, all Evil Dollars (and rifted Tip Jars) transformed into Lighters.
- In the Great Outdoors Update, putting the Tip Jar in a curious rift, in one of the mid-run rift room would make it turn into the Evil Dollar
- Prior to The Content Update, after The Haunt Update, it was possible to rift the Tip Jar, (only in Curious Light's rift and not in Guiding Light's rift). Doing this would transform the Tip Jar into a Lighter the next time the rift was encountered.[2]
- The Tip Jar might be a reference the Roblox game, Pls Donate, which collabed with DOORS around the time The Hotel+ Update came out.
- The Tip Jar is the third transformable item, the first and second being the Candle and Smoothie respectively.
