- Pre-Run Shop

Vitamins are an item that can rarely be found in containers or can be bought at the Pre-Run Shop or the Jeff Shop.

Usage

When consumed, the player will receive a temporary speed boost lasting 10 seconds. Once the player has run out of uses, the vitamins will be removed from their inventory.

Notes

• Multiple vitamins cannot be taken in quick succession (and by extension the player cannot stack its effects). After the effects wear off, the player must wait 5 more seconds before using another vitamin.
• Vitamins can be helpful in evading fast entities, such as the Figure, Seek, or Grumbles and the Queen.
  • The vitamin boost stacks with the player's speed during the Seek chase, which can make the player run even faster, thus outrunning Seek.
• Vitamins can be bought at the Hotel's Pre-Run Shop for 100, which grants the maximum stack (x3).
• Vitamins used to also provide a small health boost, however this was removed in The Hotel+ update. it was removed as more healing items were being added.
  • The effect time of vitamins was also reduced from 16 seconds to 8 seconds.
    • It was then later increased to 10 seconds.
• Vitamins used to disable the ability to be silent while crouching when consumed. After the Mines update, this doesn’t occur anymore.
• Using math, one vitamin costs 33.33 knobs.

Pros and Cons

Pros

• Increased movement speed.
• Maximum of 3 vitamins per player.
• Can be helpful to escape dangerous situations, mostly from Seek, Figure or Grumbles and the Queen.
• Can be helpful running away from Rush, Ambush, A-60, and A-120 if there's no hiding spots nearby.
• Quite common in any containers in The Hotel if a light source has been obtained.
• Available at the Pre-Run Shop in The Hotel (Pre-Run shop sells 3 Vitamins).
• Jeff Shop sometimes has a chance to sell Vitamins.
• Are commonly found (and almost guaranteed) in The Infirmary.
• Can be found in The Outdoors.

Cons

• Last 10 seconds per use.
• Speed boost cannot be stacked while active.
• Aren’t available in The Mines' Pre-Run Shop.
• Rarely only found on Vine-covered chests in The Mines.

Bugs

• Vitamins' bottle can appear without a lid or open, possibly from animation bug.
• If during the Vitamins taking animation the player quickly takes other Vitamins, the taking animation will stop.
• Figure used to still able to detect fast crouching speed, however in The Mines update this has been patched.
• Before The Hotel+ Update, if the player has the max amount of Vitamins, a prompt will say "You cannot carry any more Vitaminss". This is due to the fact that in this case the letter "s" is added at the end, but the word Vitamins already has "s".

Trivia

• Before The Great Outdoors Update, Vitamins could not spawn in The Hotel if at least a player didn't have a light source.
  • Before The Hunt Update, all players had to have light sources, instead of only one.
• Vitamins can be obtained trading with Louie certain items.
  • Vitamins have a chance of 33.33% to be dropped when using a Crucifix against Louie.
  • Vitamins have a chance of 20% to be dropped by Louie when giving them a Bandage Pack, Battery Pack, a Flashlight, a Straplight or Lockpicks.
• Candies and Vitamins share same animations.
• LSPLASH confirmed that vitamins taste "like gummy".

Removed Content

• Before The Hotel+ Update, Vitamins used to have the turned on lighter sound when eating it. It was replaced by a new sound.
  • The sound is still used in HOTEL-.
• Vitamins used to give health regeneration, however this has been removed after The Hotel+ Update.
  • This mechanic is still in HOTEL-.
• Vitamin's old Pre-Run Shop description also used to be "Provides health & speed boost"' before The Hotel+ Update.
  • The description is still present in HOTEL-.
